Welcome

Welcome to Booted Bantams In Wales. Here you will find all you need to know about these delightful little bantams as well as my Garden Maintenance service.

The Booted Bantam is looked after by the
Rare Poultry Society. It is standardised in 11 colours; Black, White, Blue, Lavender, Cuckoo, Black Mottled, Buff Mottled, Gold Millefleur, Lemon Millefleur, Silver Millefleur and Porcelain. Detailed descriptions of these can be found under the Booted Bantam page.
To help support the breed it is worth joining the RPS. By joining you are entitled to several newsletters a year, a breeder's directory and eligibility to win rosettes and trophies at shows. I have recently taken over as Breed Registrar for the Booted Bantam. As breed registrar l'd like build up a better picture of how many birds there are in the UK and to compile a breeders/keepers list of all known Booted Bantams in the UK. I would be very grateful if you could spare the time to tell me the following information about your birds; colour variety, number of males/females, county and if possible where they came from. An email address would also be beneficial as I intend on publishing a newsletter in the near future. You can contact me through email- ahales2010@live.com or through the "Contact Me" tab in the right hand corner.
.

I presently keep Booted Bantams in Black, Cuckoo and White. In the UK, the Cuckoo may now be one of the rarest colours with only myself known to be breeding them in 2010. Limited stock of all colours will be available from October.

They are commonly referred to as Sabelpoots, this is the Dutch name for them and although recognised in the UK please watch the spelling! They are Sabelpoot due to their vulture hocks or Sabels and not Sable as in the fur.

Llandysul Country Market
I am a member of Llandysul Country Market and sell my produce-plants and craft items through this market every Wednesday. The Market has a wide selection of baking, preserves and chutneys, plants, herbs, vegetables, eggs, crafts and gifts. Refreshments are also available. The market is open every Wednesday at the Sacred Hands Spiritual Centre from 9.30 til 12.30pm. The Country Market also runs a basket delivery service to local businesses within the town itself and further afield, including the local schools, printing press and the doctors surgery. Please pop in and say hello!
